Visit to Gatton Park

Thank you to all parents who were able to come along with their children to Gatton Park this morning. All had fun and the children really engaged with the various maths activities, which delivered invaluable learning opportunities in beautiful surroundings.  This is the first time that a request was made for an outside Maths activity and it is something the Park will now be advertising to all nurseries and schools.

Diwali Day Celebration

We have all enjoyed a very busy week at nursery school. The children did so well to observe the 2-minute silence to remember our soldiers, you would be so very proud of them. They also did so well to listen to the story of Diwali told by one of our mums. We went to enjoy lots of Diwali art and crafts. Thank you once again to Bhawani who put so much thought and preparation into the presentation.

There has been much talk in the media recently concerning British Values. Ofsted when inspecting, will now judge all early years providers, and schools on how well British Values are being ‘actively promoted’. This is now a statutory requirement.

Welcome to all our returners and new children, their parents and carers. We hope you have all enjoyed a wonderful summer! It was so lovely to see you all at the Welcome Back Tea Party on Friday and especially seeing all the children so well (and grown!) and having a wonderful time. We have a lot of information to share with you over the next few weeks. Starting nursery can be a daunting experience for both parents and children alike. We are here to help so please ask as many questions as is needed.

MAYDAY PARADE Saturday 2nd May 10.30am (approximately).

We are excited to inform you that The Beeches will be a part of the Banstead Mayday celebrations this year. This means that our children together with their families and friends have been invited to walk in the parade. This of course will only be successful if we have lots of support from our parents/carers, grandparents etc. The Mayday celebration in Banstead village is a lovely day for children and families. Please complete the Sign-Up sheet so that we can assess interest. The response has been quite disappointing and if we do not have enough numbers, we will have to cancel.

Dear Parents/Carers,

Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED) THE GOLDEN RULES

We will continue to focus the children on our Golden Rules.  Next week we shall be emphasising We Take Care of Our Things. This includes taking care of the equipment i.e. putting things back in the correct place when finished with, treating our books with care and their own things (coats, hats etc.). All children especially those going to primary school this year should be practicing these necessary skills. Some children are still throwing their coats hats etc. on the floor when they take them off! These Rules are important, as they will continue onto primary school. Please support us by discussing these Golden Rules with your child.

The children will also continue to practice their Grace and Courtesy skills.
