New Children
At The Beeches Montessori School we strive to ensure that the transition from home to school is an enjoyable experience. We offer children an opportunity to come along to the nursery before they start school in order for them to get to know staff and other children.

At The Beeches Montessori School we feel it is important to encourage positive behaviour by establishing clear boundaries according to the child’s level of understanding. Any behavioural difficulties are discussed with parents to find a mutually agreeable solution.

Please notify the school if your child is absent for any reason. In the interests of safety to other children we ask that you keep your child at home for 48hrs if suffering from any of the following: - high temperature, diarrhoea, sickness or unknown rash.

Uniform Clothing and Personal Property
The Nursery requests that all children wear a school polo shirt and school jumper which will be available to purchase from the school directly.

All clothing should be comfortable and suitable for school activities. We request that clothing be clearly labelled and ask that a spare set of clothes remain at school.

Birthdays and Festivals
At The Beeches Montessori School we recognise the importance of your child’s birthday and on this occasion we are happy for the child concerned to share a treat with the other children.

Cultural festivals are celebrated within School e.g.Harvest festival, Easter, Christmas, Divali and Ramadan; in doing so we aim to extend your child’s appreciation of the diverse world; promoting understanding and awareness. If you would prefer your child not to participate, please advice staff and your wishes will be respected.

Snacks and Drinks
We feel that all children should have a healthy snack and as such parents are asked to provide a piece of washed fruit and a water bottle. A child attending for a full day will also require a packed lunch. We request that the children do not bring in sweets unless for special occasions e.g. birthday.

Outdoor Access
We try to give the children maximum access to our safe and secure child play area. This area is seen as an extension of the classroom and helps the child develop not only physically but also socially and all curriculum areas can be addressed through outdoor play.

Partnership with Parents
At The Beeches Montessori School we see the education of your child as a partnership and as such we will offer twice yearly parent consultations and a written report at the end of the school year. In addition we are always happy to discuss any concerns, suggestions or complaints as they arise.
